The PMM 1008 is an integrated system for magnetic field immunity test according to IEC 1000-4-8 & EN 61000-4-8.
The system is composed by PMM 1008/1 (programmable current generator) and a loop antenna that is available in different sizes to select according to the EUT dimensions:
- 1008/2: square loop antenna, 1x1 m
- 1008/3: square loop antenna, 1,5x1,5 m
- 1008/4: square loop antenna, 2x2 m
- 1008/5: rectangular loop antenna, 2,6x1 m
One or two masts – according to the size – allow for positioning up and down and rotate the loop antenna.
The generator features output current sensing to control the stability of the magnetic field produced by the loop antenna respect to variations due to cable heating, connections and power line fluctuations.
An audible alarm is generated during the test to warn the user.

The model equipped with plug-in, rechargeable battery pack allows for ground loops-free operation and true portability. PMM 3030 features a particularly user-friendly interface based on a clear, bright display and function keys conveniently arranged. All settings can be done by the front panel keyboard and rotary knob.

Electric field probes (diode detectors) combining excellent RF characteristics from 5 kHz up to 18 GHz, wide range, small size, light weight (25 g only), true spherical symmetrical configuration.
Suitable for all EMC/EMI applications (chambers and TEM/GTEM cells), biology, materials research and wherever fast and accurate measurements with negligible or minimum interference of the probe to the field under measure are essential.
The model EP-602 is designed for the most severe RF immunity tests e.g. in Aerospace and Automotive applications, where it can withstand overloads up to the exceptional value of 3000 V/m.
The model EP-603 is at present the only probe based on a central spherical body with three axial, symmetrical dipoles in the frequency range up to 18 GHz: the perfect spherical symmetry guarantees superior isotropic characteristics respect to the conventional probes with resistive strip-line or monopoles.
The advanced internal Li-Mn rechargeable battery guarantees superior reliability with up to 80 hours of continuous operation.
The battery is commonly available, accessible and easily replaceable without needing recalibration.
This PMM’s exclusive technology overcomes the inconvenients other types of probes may suffer and allows for reducing the probe costs.

Antennas
The range of PMM antennas covers most of the EMI/EMC applications. Each antenna is individually calibrated. Up to 50 MHz the monopole antennas are calibrated with the substitution method.
Loop antennas are calibrated inside an anechoic chamber by measuring the current in a primary loop and calculating the induction field; the loop antenna is placed in the known field and the antenna factor is then measured.
Comprehensive antenna kits are available as cost-effective solutions, too.

PIMS - PMM Immunity Suite Software
The new "PMM Immunity Suite" (PIMS) software, accurately designed in terms of functions and user friendly approach, can manage the whole range of PMM components during both Test and Calibration processes, introducing the possibility of looking at the various monitoring tracks from generator, power meters and field sensors. The software is user friendly and provides a really ergonomic configuration which comfortably drives the operator through the various steps, from definition and selection of HW components to settings of required parameters and finally starting the test with "just one button". Program window has been designed for omni-comprehensive overview of each specific test being performed, so that operator can easily control all details with a quick glance. A graphical scheme of the test set-up clearly reminds about proper physical connections between components, which could slightly differ between Tests and Devices' Calibrations.
In case of Radiated Immunity Tests according to IEC/EN 61000-4-3 in Anechoic Chambers or TEM/GTEM Cells, PIMS does also include calibration of radiated field up to 16 points in the grid of Field Uniformity assurance, providing "Amplifier Saturation Check" routine for proper amplifier/antenna matching verification at 80% AM Modulation increased power.
